This is our second litter of Newfoundland X Bernese Mountain Dogs (bred to revive the healthy, robust "Saint John" type of dog, from which the Labrador & Newfoundland breeds originated); The first litter bred is now 6 years of age & well tested. They have proven to be brilliant athletes, improving upon the purebred Newfoundland's most obvious fault, it's wet mouth. The adults we have are extremely gentle & loyal. True utility dogs. These puppies will grow to look very similar to Black (purebred) Newfoundlands without the drooping eye-lids or loose jowls. In many ways the head conformation is improved, resulting in no drool, even after vigorous exercise. You can expect excellent health & soundness with improved longevity due to the hybrid vigour gained by the genetic cross. At 6 weeks these puppies are already showing the exceptional intelligence & cleanliness of the Bernese Mountain Dog (a glamorous looking Swiss cattle dog). If your looking for a big dog with an even temperament for the family, then these are ideal. We cannot recommend them highly enough as companions for children because they come from parentage, known to have performed rescues.
