Massey Farms
Welcome

To all who visit we hope you enjoy!

Before making casual requests, please think of the work-load involved in providing information, photos & videos, to each & every person. If you simply love the breed or a particular horse that we have presented on the website then we are happy to oblige your specific interests, provided you are honest about not purchasing a horse or a breeding. Time-wasters are frowned upon & will not be tolerated, once found out.

To deter the "Tyre Kickers" and so we can give our full attention to people with definite goals, we make the modest request that all enquirers, when making Initial Contact provide at least one Phone number (preferably a Landline), a Residential Address & as much detail as possible, about what they require in their ideal horse or dog.

To accommodate our International Clientelle & make provision for New Enquiries from Overseas we ask that these people forward a Landline Phone number (including Country Code & Area Code). We also find it most helpful, if you indicate the Region you are from & the nearest Capital City.

As a quick explanation for our new stern approach, we ask people to understand that the 2 farms are run by a family of four, in total. One is past retirement age, two are disabled pensioners & the other works full time off farm. In recent years we have all had health problems, which unfortunately remain with us in varying degrees of severity. Hence the SLOW dispersal Sale that we have reluctantly embarked on.

A priority for our family, is to enjoy the horses we love. Second to this, we remain dedicated to preserving unique bloodlines within the Australasian herd & ensuring a healthy future for the Andalusian Horse both Pure & Crossbred. Across the other Breeds we have a wide range of goals. Each of these will be briefly outlined on the Breed page, as it is developed.

Our aims have always been to breed "user friendly", Performance horses. The kind of horses Mum & Dad looked far & wide to find, when we were starting out in Pony Club and began Showing. Without doubt, our horses, are proven in temperament & athleticism in this pursuit. We have produced horses now used as National symbols for the Andalusian breed. Horses like Ruisenora, Pagan MF, GP Rafael & SP Inquisitor were bred on our farms.

Our many Spanish & Lusitano stallions are world reknown. They stand alongside the Superior Western Pleasure performed Paint stallion - Passions Skipper (imp.) and the National Champion Miniature Horses Foxfire Famemaker & Silver Star Wildfire.

Most recently, we have ventured into breeding & racing Coloured Thoroughbreds & would like to acknowledge the accomplishments of the now 4 year old Thoroughbred Colt, that we race with Coolmore Stud; "Starspangledbanner" is making headlines for his phenomenal speed over 1000m (5f) to 1600 (8f).
After his brilliant win in the Caulfield Guineas (G1), he has beaten a world class field of sprinters at Ascot in the Golden Jubilee Stakes (G1) & at Goodwood in the Darley July Cup (G1).

Now that Coolmore has retired the racehorse we bought into as an unbroken colt, we have decided to continue a small racing interest by breeding a few unique coloured Thoroughbreds. Unfortunately Starspangledbanner will not be apart of this, as originally planned. Instead we have had to start a fresh & in 2012 we will be expecting the first commercially bred, Palomino & Buckskin Thoroughbred foals born in Australia. These will be from some of the best maternal families in ASB.
